2024 Community Spring Extravaganza

We're excited to invite vendors and organizations to participate in the upcoming 2024 Community Spring Extravaganza "We Grow By Working Together", a vibrant community event to showcase a wide array of opportunities and resources while having fun!

This vibrant event, hosted in East Greensboro, is designed to foster community growth and unity by showcasing an extensive range of opportunities and resources available to the residents. Our goal is to support the ongoing development of our community and believe that collaboration and mutual support are key to achieving this.

Neighborhood and Community Involvement:

*Vendor fee has been waived.

Hampton Elementary School in Greensboro, NC, has been a significant landmark in the community since 1964 until it was tragically destroyed by a tornado in 2018. This school was more than just a place for learning; it was the heart of the community where people gathered, grew, and created lasting memories.

The legacy of Hampton Elementary is not just in its physical structure but in the impact, it had on its students, faculty, and the wider community. It was a place where local churches found their beginnings and where important community figures like Dr. William M. Hampton, Greensboro's first African American councilman of Greensboro and a devoted physician, made lasting contributions.

We are giving out bricks that were salvaged by the City of Greensboro before demolition to people who went to Hampton Elementary, worked there, or feel a connection to the school. Although we have a limited number of bricks salvaged from the school, the real treasure lies in preserving the memory and spirit of Hampton Elementary.

*We currently only have 23 of these bricks available.

To reserve a brick, please contact Tiarra Brown at 336-404-5975 or tiarra@gsohc.org.

We also invite everyone to join us at the 3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza in East Greensboro on April 14th, from 1pm to 4pm. We hope you can come to the event, and share your memories of Hampton Elementary with others!
